Total Solar Eclipse

What is a total solar eclipse? I could sum it up for you, but I’ll admit – I’m tired and have a lot of Astrology to cover this week. So let’s let NASA cover the Astronomy part of this lesson, shall we?

As for the Astrology and tarot horoscopes, it’s worth noting that this 2024 total solar eclipse is happening because the New Moon (in Aries), is near the North Node. The North Node isn’t a planet, rather it’s a point where the Moon crosses from the south to the north side of the Suns orbit. In Astrology, the North Node represents our karmic paths and where our souls are headed.

Okay now in English… From my perspective here in St. Louis, the Moon is covering up the Sun on Monday April 8th, 2024. With this eclipse happening in Aries – the sign of independence, passion, and self assurance – now’s the time to look within and be proud of yourself. Although, eclipse energy is heavy, and it’s likely you have been beating yourself up these past few days… Don’t focus on big life goals during this time. Focus on internal healing and taking it easy. Rest, rest, rest.

Mars conjunct Saturn

Mars, the planet of war and action is bumping into Saturn, the planet of boundaries and restriction, on Wednesday April 10th, 2024. Think – hard braking, stop and go, push and pull. These planets are connecting in Pisces, the sign of mystery and delusion. So you can expect to frustrated with this energy, especially with Mercury retrograde and eclipse season in the mix.

Moving forward is not the goal right now. Surrender to Saturn and reinforce your boundaries. Whether it’s with people or work, take time for rest and block out the people/things that are contributing to your exhaustion.

Mercury (Retrograde)

Mercury stationed retrograde on Monday April 1st, 2024. I was writing a post about Mercury and the Fool tarot card, but I didn’t finish it. Rather than push through and produce crap, I realized I needed to truly take a break and rethink my writing. With Mercury retrograde (until April 25th, 2024), don’t be ashamed of having to redo your work. This doesn’t make you less than. In fact, redoing something, or re-evaluating the need for something is key in making content worthwhile.

Sun in Taurus

As fire season ends and earthy Taurus season begins on April 19th, 2024 – we reflect on the “volcanic” eruptions that occurred. Although fire energy can be overwhelming, fire is essential for discovering what we’re passionate about, what makes us move forward, and why we get angry about certain things. This Taurus season is a great time for bringing your passions to life, taking steady movement towards your goals, and planting your feet firmly into the ground as you stand up for what your believe in.

*Disclaimer – Taurus moves slowly, and I still don’t think Mercury retrograde is a great time for pushing forward. Move at your own pace. Slow and steady wins the race.*

Jupiter conjunct Uranus

Jupiter meets up with Uranus in Taurus on April 20th, 2024. For my 420, stoner pals – this will be an especially exciting day. Jupiter is the planet of evolution and expansion, while Uranus is the planet of unpredictability and freedom. The weed industry has come a long way, but there is still more work to be done. Although marijuana use isn’t free in all states here in the US, I say we take this day to celebrate the slow and steady growth of this industry.

And if you aren’t into all that, I still say you should find a way to celebrate growth on this day. We don’t always know how and when we’re going to grow and change; however, the Universe always provides.

Tarot Horoscopes

This song, Bird Set Free by Sia, is coming to me. “Shout it out like a bird set free.” You’ve been fighting to be heard, but not anymore. You know who you are – deep down in your soul, and you don’t have to prove that to anyone. When you speak with passion, people will listen.

Taurus

Taurus, you got the Seven of Pentacles and New Moon Eclipse. So you got the New Moon Eclipse card on a New Moon Eclipse. Woo!

Waiting on the world to change? Well, keep on waiting. The world changes rapidly, yet hardly changes at all. Isn’t that funny? If you look around, things are constantly moving. Yet if you look at history, us silly humans keep repeating the same cycles.

If you look at the bigger picture that is your life, you may not see change. Yet if you look at your life through a microscope, you will see lots of change. Yes, you may not have the life you desire, but you are taking baby steps each day to tend to your needs. Be proud of the little things you have accomplished and keep moving forward.

Gemini

Gemini, you got The Sun and Blue Moon. What a wholesome pull you have this week, Gemini!

As a child, I despised the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” In fact, I was the only kid to cry and say “I don’t know” then run off the pre-school graduation stage.

Even if you don’t know what you want to be, it’s likely because it hasn’t been invented yet, or isn’t accepted by society. Cancer

Cancer, you got Queen of Swords and New Moon. The Moonology guidebook mentions this card as the most auspicious card in the deck. This is because New Moons start new phases. And life, like the Moon, is cyclical. When a new phase begins, we get the chance to start fresh.

Whether it’s a new job, home, partner, or something else – lean into the new “honeymoon” phase. Speak positively about this change, even if you are unsure about it. Let the positive energy flow through you and be confident that things will work out for the better this time around.

Leo

Leo, you got the Tower and First Quarter Moon. Will you jump ship, or will you be like the captain and go down with the ship? Neither is dishonorable, but a choice needs to be made. Scorpio, you got the High Priestess and Balsamic Moon. The High Priestess is attuned to the Moon, just look at her feet. The crescent Moon beneath her, grounds her in her beliefs. The crescent Moon symbolizes health and inner wisdom.
